Coming out to the Rocky theme song and letting us know the champ was here, Ms. Ernestine Shepherd arrived to chat with us and give us the real deal behind how she keeps herself fit and in shape—including her insane morning routine!

At 80 years young, Ms. Ernestine Shepherd came to KICKSTART and BGH Live! to play. Dressed to the T and with a ton of energy, she gave us the scoop on the morning routine of all morning routines. Ready for this one?

She wakes up every morning at 2:30am—yup we were like whaattt too. She starts her morning with devotionals and meditation to get her mind in a positive space. After that, it’s an easy breakfast of liquid egg whites and she’s off for a 2 hour run and walk. But that’s not all. After her run, she heads to the gym from about 7:15 – noon, training as well as training others on their fitness. And in case you were wondering about her diet, a healthy rotation of chicken, turkey, and tuna along with foods that don’t contain any preservatives, and lots of water are what she sticks too. Anyone else feeling like their life needs an upgrade after hearing this?!

If you’re ready to turn your health and fitness around, Ms. Ernestine shared two takeaways that she contributes all of her success too. First, prayers help with everything that you do. Yes, we all applauded on that one too! Second, find out the foods that work for YOU and stick to that. Remember, everything ain’t for everybody.
